Would French hip-hop hit as hard without Alpha Wann?
Probably not. Alpha Wann is a co-founder of the group 1995 and of the L’Entourage collective. As such he’s been a driving force on the French rap scene since 2000. Born in 1989, this gifted freestyler has been part of numerous collaborations: with Nekfeu (also a member of 1995), as part of the En sous-marin project, then with Kyo Itachi on the track Mon Job. He subsequently released two solo EPs, “Alph Lauren” (2014) and “Alph Lauren 2” (2016), before concentrating on a long play. His debut album, “Une main lave l’autre”, was a rap highlight of 2018. To kick off 2019 he posted this unambiguous message on Instagram: “I don’t think there will ever be another 1995 project”. Console yourself by following his new project which is just about to take off.
