Bagarre means “brawl” in French so you better watch out!
This Paris band formed in 2015, and it’s hard to say who the main singer is because vocal duties get passed round. It’s also a point of pride that it’s impossible to pin their music down as having one particular style or influence – rock, rap, house, trap and punk all get a look in. Their debut album, Club 12345 (released in 2018), is the perfect reflection of their clever and eclectic style. Bagarre is a democratic and diverse collective, one female and four males, there’s no leader so everyone has the maximum amount of liberty, with added equality and fraternity (of course). The drummer can be the singer, like on the single Kabylifornie released last April where you can hear the words “I dig skating / I dig rock / I dig my home town / dig me”. And it’s true, we dig Bagarre, even before they asked us to.
