At regular intervals several Belgian musicians make their way outside the kingdom to prove that Belgium is in fact a hotbed of musical talent. Following on from the magnificent indie rock that crossed France’s borders (dEUS, Evil Superstars, Venus, Balthazar, Girls in Hawaii, La Jungle, etc), let’s welcome Brutus with open arms. This trio from Louvain with post-hardcore tendencies have already released three tumultuous albums. Behind their rather savage name is singer/drummer Stefanie Mannaerts, bassist Peter Mulders and guitarist Stijn Vanhoegaerden, finding a delicate balance between angry decibels and atmospheric shoegaze moments.
