Blessed with a beautiful and soulful voice, like that of Amy Winehouse, Celeste was the talk of the UK music scene with the release of her remarkable EP, Lately, featuring the Gotts Street Park collective.
It’s hard not to instantly fall for her charm with these five modern soul songs that joyfully borrow from hip hop and jazz. It’s her second EP, following up from her debut EP The Milk and The Honey, released by Bank Holiday Records label (Lily Allen’s label). The daughter of a British mother and Jamaican father (who she lost aged 16, the emotional song Father’s Son is dedicated to him), Celeste was born in Los Angeles but has lived for a long time in Brighton. When you listen to her songs though, you’ll swear her voice comes from heaven.
