There aren’t many French band to have the honour of heading to Chicago to record with rock legend Steve Albini in his studio (member of Shellac, but also producer for Nirvana, The Pixies and PJ Harvey).
These three musicians from Lyons have been really lucky. Fanny Bouland and Sabrina Duval are childhood friends, starting out in 2006 playing the drums and the guitar in a riot grrrl style all-female band that combined noise pop and punk. Bass player Guillaume Carle joined them to form the three-piece they are today. Décibelles have already released several albums. Their most recent, the one produced by Steve Albini, was released in April and is called “Rock Français”, making reference to the fact they chose to sing the whole album in French.
