After The Smiths split up this British musician has had an exemplary career.
His distinctive guitar sound has been part of such varied groups as The Pretenders, The The, The Cribs, Modest Mouse and of course, Electronic, the group he co-founded with Bernard Sumner of New Order. After more than a decade, Johnny Marr finally has a rapturous solo career, showcasing his singer-songwriter talents on each new album – take the latest one, “Call The Comet” (2018), it’s full of hits like The Tracers and Hi Hello. Now aged 55, he’s a living legend who is still giving captivating live performances and with the confidence to include numerous Smiths songs in his set. We can’t wait to see this Charming Man again.
