Established in 2017 in parallel with their other group, La Mouche, there’s nothing faint-hearted about this Parisian four-piece. From their colourful look to their brazen music, they are as far away from being tired, tame or predictable as you can get. The same is true of their influences, Rita Mitsouko, La Femme, and also Shannon and The Clams. After a bevy of singles (including their flamboyant calling card Brazil, and their romantic-destroyer anthem Les Mots d’amour), Lulu Van Trapp released their debut album, I’m Not Here to Save the World, in April 2021. Existing somewhere between psych-rock and synth-pop, between ferocious electricity and ingenious daydreams, the group has achieved career milestones while still only just starting out. Another thing you should know is that as well as being experts in the studio, Lulu Van Trapp are a killer live act.
