Following the success of his duo with Ryan Lewis, in September the rapper Macklemore released his second album Gemini (his star sign) under his own name.
Going solo? Not entirely, judging from the impressive number of guests featuring on his tracks (Kesha, Lil Yachty and Skylar Grey to name but a few). A true force of nature onstage, Macklemore (Benjamin Hammond Haggerty in official circles) puts all of his energy into both his music and causes close to his heart, in particular to combat homophobia and addiction – in 2016 he was even invited to meet President Obama and discuss the subject at the White House in a video of the pair. According to this Seattle-born thirtysomething, Gemini reflects his own personal growth, and we can well believe it.
