The storks often get it wrong and deliver future musicians far from the land they should have grown up in.
That’s what happened to the members of Mungo’s Hi Fi, a dynamic collective from Glasgow who would be equally at home in Kingston, Jamaica. This authentic Scottish sound system can certainly hold its own faced with its Caribbean peers, they have the same passion for dub and reggae. Since the beginning of the 00s, Mungo’s Hi Fi has built up an impressive repertoire: nearly 10 albums to their name since 2002 with plenty of “featuring” credits (e.g. Solo Banton, Ranking Joe, Sugar Minott). Their most recent collaboration was with Eva Lazarus, who they plan to work with again on an album due for release this summer. Expect a heat wave!
