Their first single is less than a year old. It’s called Je marche derrière toi and it was accompanied by a video where these two young French women, one a voluptuous blond – the other a mysterious brunette – perform their French song facing the camera, lying on the ground, while random objects fall on them (tarot cards, polaroids, feathers, flowers, balloons etc.) and all the while they don’t react, at least not till the end when they can’t help but start laughing. Ottis Cœur is just starting out – another song that’s just as promising has since been released, Cœur à corps, and it has the same spontaneity and ambition to play uncompromising 1990 riot grrrl-style rock. At the end of the song, they smile and sing on repeat “Tu ne m’aimes pas” – you don’t love me – but they’re so very wrong.
