The Kills, The Limiñanas, The Cramps and The Raveonettes have all had the pleasure of experiencing the savage beauty that a male-female rock duo can generate. The spirited pair that make up Parlor Snakes fit this mould exactly. Based in Paris, French singer Eugénie Alquezar and American guitarist Peter K make blazing, brooding, dark and divinely sensual rock music. It’s like they’re playing on hot coals, their songs are full of acerbic sharp edges. There’s a few of their albums you really need to hear until you get the chance to see them on stage, notably their most recent, Disaster Serenades. Their live act generates an electric atmosphere on a par with those of their exceptional studio performances.
