Bands get hand-picked to sign to Warp, the label that specialises in electronic and experimental music. Squid (not to be confused with the Squid Game series!) is part of this elite thanks to their abrasive post-punk songs. Originally from Brighton before relocating to London, these five Brits successfully bring to the stage the full force and unique sound of their debut studio album, Bright Green Field, released in May 2021 and produced by the talented Dan Carey. This brilliant concentration of punk, krautrock, funk and prog rock silences all those who wrongly thought rock was obsolete, and The Guardian newspaper rightly compares the singer-drummer to David Byrne and Mark E. Smith.
