Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands formed their band in 1989’s Manchester, inspired by the vitality of its music scene (in particular that of the Haçienda). Alongside Fatboy Slim and The Prodigy, these two Brits were pioneers of the electro sub-genre big beats movement. They now have a career that spans more than thirty years and bevy of solid gold hits notably the house-infused Hey Boy Hey Girl, Block Rockin’ Beats, Let Forever Be and Setting Sun, these last two both featuring Noel Gallagher on vocals. The Chemical Brothers often invite guest vocalists, from Beck to Aurora. Their most recent album, 2019’s No Geography, is proof of the duo’s long reign, transforming hedonistic shows into a massive celebration of all kinds of electronic music.
