Following Jorja Smith, Polo & Pan and The Cure… after Deerhunter and Jungle… discover the new artists joining the 23-25 August 2019 Rock en Seine line up!
That’s right, Rock en Seine is loyal and we admit we have our faves! After announcing the return of Johnny Marr, Major Lazer and Royal Blood it’s time to reveal the return of Northern Ireland trio Two Door Cinema Club, performing on Sunday 25 August, a full three years since they last came to see us in Saint Cloud.
Here at Rock en Seine we also love joining the dots. So, Sunday 25 August, Foals share the line up with The Murder Capital, a young Dublin band full of fury and electric energy who we predict will share their success as well. Staying with guitars, but this time the pop-tinged guitars of Eels who play on the same day as we bring you another amazing pop artisan, Max Jury, originally from Des Moines and now a resident of Paris.
In addition, there’s a connection to be made between the many incredible female vocalists appearing at the festival this year. Jeanne Added is back with her exceptional songs on Friday 23 August (after performing on our Avant Seine discovery stage in 2015), sharing the line up with the Anglo-German singer Alice Merton and also Mikaela Straus, better known as the American artist and producer King Princess who is signed to Mark Ronson’s label. Canadian rapper Tommy Genesis joins us Saturday 24 August, the same day as Mahalia, the British singer and actress based in Birmingham (seen, for example, in the film Brotherhood). Five strong women, five stunning and committed artists.
Finally, like every year since we started out, Rock en Seine 2019 brings hip hop to centre stage with one of the best storytellers on the French rap scene, Prince Waly, as well as the enigmatic rapper Zed Yun Pavarotti, following in the footsteps of Lord Esperanza and PLK, who performed in 2018.
