Rock en Seine, the last days of summer !

New names and full Rock en Seine line-up announced today!

Discover the bands joining Aphex Twin, The Cure and Foals for the 2019 edition.

If you love… hybrid creations, mixing pop, hip hip, dance, soul and rock, you can count on Bagarre. This Paris band is back with a new single, a new tour and a first appearance at Rock en Seine Friday 23 August. You can also count on the unique and unclassifiable musician, Mathilda Homer, bringing pop and soul vibes from London. Also performing Friday are Power Rangers from the Tricatel label, Catastrophe, and Celeste whose melodies reference classical jazz as well as Aretha Franklin.

If you love… rock in its purest form then fear not, Sam Fender and the French trio Decibellesare on the line-up for Sunday. Proper guitar rock as their names indicate! Sam won this year’s Brit Award Critics’ Choice while Decibelles just released their second album, Rock Français. They’ll be playing the same day as the British four-piece Boy Azooga, you can hear from their music that they grew up on Nirvana and Run DMC and they are sure to get the crowd going. French band Cannibale (signed to the Bad Born label) are back after their 2017 appearance. Another group from the Born Bad label is Le Villejuif Underground, a collaborative project led by Australian Nathan Roche with three French guys from the Parisian suburb of Villejuif. There’s more frenzied rock from the crazed SÜEÜR and We Hate You Please Die, who with an average age of 24 bring to mind Ty Segall, The Cramps, Fucked Up and The Vines. And finally, four years after their first visit, the festival sees the welcome return of the fabulous Mini Mansions, founded by the bassist of Queens Of The Stone Age among others.

If you love… warm August summer days, the festival is the perfect place to put some flowers in your hair and sway to the sounds of melancholic pop. We’re celebrating August with the five members of Meteo Mirage, who bring their languid melodies sung in the language of Molière, and laidback French pop duo Mauvais Oeil, who released their first single last February. We’re also celebrating beautiful female vocals. The British art pop duo Let’s Eat Grandma are coming with songs from their second album and there’s Lee Ann Curren, showcasing her first solo album produced by Alan O’Connell (Klaxons, Placebo). We’re also going to hear the music of Silly Boy Blue following a stint making an album with Pégase, and that of Franco-Venezuelan singer-songwriter La Chica, previously part of the band 3SOMESISTERS, with her debut album Cambio. Just 20 years old, Girl In Red will be here to contradict the title of her single Summer Depressionand French band Biche bring their experimental pop citing The Beatles’ Revolver under the Saint-Cloud sunshine.

If you love… Machines, experimentation, the beautiful and the bizarre then you’ll be pleased to hear that Rock en Seine is not just about rock and not just about pop, but about so much more. There’s the idiosyncratic Aphex Twin of course, then Saturday there’s Fils Cara, a young 24-year-old rapper from Saint Etienne, 404 Billy, also 24 years old, a diamond in the rough from Villiers-le-Bel, as well as Mungo’s Hi Fi feat. Charlie P & Marine P, an authentic Scottish sound system that can certainly hold its own faced with its Caribbean peers, as they have the same passion for dub and reggae. Sunday, we see Weval, the Dutch duo formed by Harm Coolen (27 ans) and Merijn Scholte Albers (25 ans), the same day as Calling Marian, rapidly rising star of the Lyons electronic scene.

If you love music, all music, let’s make a date 23-25 August 2019 at the Domaine de Saint-Cloud!
