Deftones en concert à Rock en Seine
A collision of airy shoegaze-adjacent atmospheres and electric fury, almost whispered melancholy verses and cathartic vocal bursts in their choruses, these Americans have always been fascinating outsiders on the Californian metal scene. Sometimes nicknamed the “Radiohead of metal”, Chino Moreno and his crew have travelled a long difficult road since forming in 1988, and their longevity deserves recognition since it is not exactly common in their field. They released their tenth album last summer, Private Music, showing their ability to stay faithful to their original principles while remaining relevant in today’s musical landscape. Their presence next August will give us the chance to sing along to the very fitting My Own Summer (Shove It).
