SLOWDIVE EN CONCERT
The last day of the festival sees a meeting of British rock legends. Sharing the bill with The Cure, veterans Slowdive will remind us why they remain key shoegaze figures, a movement their music helped spread across their own country and far beyond, both back in the day and long after. Alongside their three foundational albums, Just for a Day (1991), Souvlaki (1993) and Pygmalion (1995), marked by distorted guitars, airy vocals and exquisite melancholy, the Reading band has enjoyed a brilliant resurgence since reforming in 2014, with a long run of concerts (including a set at Rock en Seine in 2017) and two excellent albums that showcase their undimmed inspiration. Few bands ever manage a comeback like this!
