Tash Sultana en concert à Paris
Capable of writing and producing music, singing across five octaves, playing an astonishing number of instruments (guitar, bass, piano, as well as percussion, harmonica and all kinds of brass) and carefully layering multiple sound loops to perform solo, Tash Sultana has more than one trick up her sleeve. Originally from Melbourne, this non-binary artist in their thirties first came to prominence busking on the streets of their home city and showed an early gift for music, picking up the guitar at the age of just three. Sultana has released two albums, in 2018 and 2021, as well as several EPs, including Return to the Roots, released last year. It is impossible to pin down their style precisely, as it encompasses all of their musical fixations, from neo-soul and psychedelic rock to R&B.
