WILCO

Formed in Chicago in 1994, Wilco have more than earned their status as indie rock veterans, patiently built through a rich discography that now includes thirteen studio albums, several live records, carefully chosen collaborations (with Fleet Foxes, Cate Le Bon, Feist, Jim O’Rourke and even the abrasive cartoonist Joan Cornellà) and seemingly endless world tours. It’s a miracle that these friends have managed to endure without losing steam, all while pursuing their own personal projects. This is especially true of their chief songwriter Jeff Tweedy, an artisan of a woody folk sound that readily ventures into country and rock. The eclecticism of these six seasoned musicians is reflected in their influences, from the Beatles to Brian Wilson, from Television to Neil Young, a roll call of heavyweights to which Wilco can compare themselves without blushing.
