Beneath the mop of wavy hair is a pop polymath whose music reflects his own inventive and effortlessly cool style. A few years after writing his first songs at 17, he began releasing EPs without much fanfare, skipping the usual promo machine and even music videos (though he’s since embraced the visual side of his art). Now signed to the Panenka label, he still seems surprised by his success – though anyone who’s heard his gift for melody and intricate rhythm knows it’s entirely deserved.
