Blasé ? Not really. According to him, the name is more about exorcising the cynical posturing so common in the industry – and shielding himself from it at all costs. Romain Hainaut, the elusive thirtysomething behind the alias, has long been driven by a deep, enduring passion for music. After stepping back from his work with the duo Haute (currently on pause), this French-American artist has experienced a creative rebirth with Blablabla, his debut solo album released in March. It’s an electro-pop journey with detours into groove and hip-hop, enriched by one-off collaborations with artists like Jwles, Valee, the late Cola Boyy and Anna Majidson (his bandmate in Haute). An artist in constant motion, both in the studio and on stage.
