A flurry of EPs introduced us to Camion Bip Bip, a four-piece that proudly claims its place on the queer scene. Taking up the fiery torch of acts like Peaches and Sexy Sushi, they fuse punk, electroclash, hyperpop, techno and chanson into tracks that pull no punches. Beyond their outspoken politics, their music remains defiantly fun and inviting, calling us to dance, celebrate and come together around values of freedom and empowerment. Once again, music proves to be one of the most powerful tools for delivering messages, either as subtext or shouted out loud and clear. One thing’s certain: Camion Bip Bip are on the road to becoming a heavyweight.
