The deep, soul-crushing boredom that pushed plenty of creative minds to form bands was one of the few positive consequences of the pandemic and its endless lockdowns. One example that definitely has bite is Fat Dog. Perhaps it was in a bid to fight off the void that they became one of the wildest live acts around today. Signed to the excellent Domino label, this mixed pack is fearless. These daring musicians combine punk rage, dance rhythms reminiscent of The Prodigy, and klezmer music: a wild cocktail that’s especially gripping live, where hypnotic moments crash into chaotic rock outbursts. Their debut album, released last September, brings together their most electrifying singles, including King of the Slugs, All the Same and Running.
