LA LOM en concert à Rock en Seine
Short for the Los Angeles League of Musicians, LA LOM is a band with a distinctive trait: like Los Bitchos, they play purely instrumental music. Their sound blends cumbia, chicha, country-leaning americana, surf-rock riffs and swaying Latin rhythms into a perfectly measured cocktail with all the kick of a fine elixir. The trio – Nicholas Bake on percussion, Jake Faulkner on bass and Zac Sokolow on guitar – started out playing regular sets in the lobby of the historic Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. These days, they’ve taken their sound far beyond LA, much to our delight, bringing with them an irresistible sense of escape, captured on their debut album released last year on Verve Records.
