Missing LCD Soundsystem and Soulwax? Pamela is for you. The duo consists of Brit Samuel Sprent (hence the flawless English) and Breton Simon Quénéa, who also drums for Zaho de Sagazan. They cut their teeth opening for her on a packed-out arena tour, feeding off that electrifying live energy. Now, they’re striking out on their own with a debut EP, Live.Shift.Dream., released in March. It’s a perfect calling card that shows exactly what they’re made of and paves the way for more shows to come. The title of their EP says it all: a three-word mantra that perfectly sums up their mission and sound. Their invigorating music brims with movement, escapism and imagination, propelled by danceable rhythms and transportive melodies.
