« What time is it? Party time! » shout Brooklyn’s TVOD on one of the raucous rock anthems from their new album, released this May. This mixed-gender troupe is full of ideas, churning out songs that veer from taut and nervy, like Car Wreck, which fuses post-punk and krautrock, or the explosive Uniform, to cool, swaggering bursts of energy. Live, they’re a jolt to the system, permanently on the edge of combustion, the opposite of the yawn-inducing bands that fade into the background. For TVOD, predictability isn’t an option. Each member brings their own musical obsessions and influences to the table, united by a single aim: to connect with anyone who finds themselves on their same riotous wavelength.
