A whole new generation of artists is choosing hybridisation, drawing from multiple styles to create fresh, modern sounds. Take the four musicians of AMG, who fluidly open up jazz through electro and hip-hop, with more than positive results: a thorough revitalisation of the genre, a musical shot in the arm, and a welcome broadening of its audience. Several albums, including a live record that captures their energy, countless concerts, notably in New York earlier this year, and a piece created in tribute to François de Roubaix at the latest Hyper Weekend Festival… Antoine Fleury, Keïta Janota, Anthony Jouravsky and Mailo Rakotonanahary have already offered a brilliant glimpse of their high-calibre music, which could well become essential listening.
