Ile de Garde en concert à Rock en Seine
The magnetic narrator is called Klara Coudrais, joined by drummer Morgane Poulain and Cécile Aurégan on synths, and they are far from done haunting our minds. The latest revelation from the essential Born Bad Records label is this trio from Rennes, pairing poisonous synths and hypnotic krautrock rhythms with disenchanted texts where cold anger intertwines with ruthless observations. Rage Blossom, the six-track EP they released at the end of 2025, contains all the promise of what we hope will be a long career. You can hear lingering traces of artists like The Slits, ESG, John Carpenter, David Lynch and Sylvia Plath, all pieces of the Île de Garde puzzle, a band that knows exactly how to preserve its aura of mystery.
