Buoyed by the success of their debut album Halcyon, released last summer, the Irish trio from Limerick has cemented its status as a young folk phenomenon, blending traditional influences with a modern sensibility. This band of friends set caused a sensation in 2025 with a single song, the irresistible Killeagh, propelled by its unexpected viral success on TikTok. An unlikely hit, sung with fervour and a thick Irish accent, it sets the tone for music that is at once introspective and built for communal sing-alongs. How far will Kingfishr go? Impossible to say, but Eoin “Fitz” Fitzgibbon (guitar), Eddie Keogh (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and Eoghan “McGoo” McGrath (banjo, guitar) look well placed to reach even greater heights, with a four-leaf clover tucked firmly in their palm.
