Sun 25 Aug

An overview of the incredible talent before us: Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, and Tom Skinner, drummer of jazz band Sons of Kemet and Beth Orton and Floating Points collaborator. The trio started out as a distraction during covid, unveiling their music in 2021 during a recording made with no audience organised by Glastonbury. This inaugural performance immediately put a smile on our faces, just like their name promised. Since then the British trio has become more than just a parallel project – even more so as Radiohead seems to be on a break since their 2016 album. A striking mix of progressive rock, asymmetrical rhythms and psychedelia, The Smile’s first album, released in 2022, will soon be joined by a much-awaited follow-up at the end of January.
