For those who miss Club Cheval — the collective that totally renewed French electro music between 2009 and 2016 — we recommend you listen to the solo projects of the four group members, of which Canblaster is one. Behind the stage name is 30-year-old Cédric Steffens, originally from Douai, in the north of France. Over the years he’s become a DJ and sought-after producer as much for his remixes (Charli XCX, A.G. Cook, etc.) as for his original work. This fan of modular synths and video game soundtracks invites us into his studio every Tuesday on Twitch to show us how he works with his machines. This constant creativity is the origin of his Genesis mixtape, released at the end of 2023 and whose extension we’ll experience in spring 2024 with the release of his album Liberosis, the product of four years of meticulous work.
