Founded in 2014 by Leo Fumagalli (saxophone), Lilian Mille (trumpet, keyboards), and Tiss Rodriguez (drums, percussion), Bada-Bada operates on instinct and improvisation. Perhaps it’s the result of their jazz studies at the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood (CMDL), the Parisian music school where the three friends met. Driven by an insatiable thirst to experiment, the Franco-Swiss trio does not anchor itself in any single musical genre. Acoustic or electronic, simultaneously jazz and ambient, contemplative or rhythmic, their music takes listeners on a journey and draws inspiration from Guillaume Perret and Björk as much as from Boards of Canada or Son Lux. Their first album, Portraits, was released in January and brings together all these influences, adding their unique touch that makes all the difference.
