The first single they released at the beginning of the year was called I’m Just Trying to Love You and really, it’s not that difficult to be totally charmed by Monobloc. All it takes is an appreciation for a deep, dishevelled voice reminiscent of The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, delicate lace-like guitar arpeggios like those of Real Estate, and timeless songwriting. This rock gem whets our appetite as we await the first EP from the band led by singer-guitarist Timothy Waldron accompanied by bassist Michael Silverglade (alias Mop). The two musicians have already played together in the band Courier Club. We can’t wait for the new wonders they are preparing.
