Take Kazu Makino, Japanese musician with a graceful and crystal-clear voice that’s like a golden thread moving in the breeze. Add Amadeo and Simone Pace, twin brothers from Milan who play guitar and drums respectively from within a divinely dark atmosphere. In 1993 the three ex-pats met by chance in New York and almost immediately they began the creative project that is Blonde Redhead. Initially leaning towards noise rock, they soon incorporated more cerebral magical melodies and chiaroscuro ballads into their repertoire. After a long break, the group made their reunion official last September with an unexpected tenth album, Sit Down for Dinner, an ode to community and the beauty of emotions.
