One of their tracks is called Mirage and that’s certainly what seems to happen when you listen to their music, three mysterious Australians creating amazing audio hallucinations. Each wears an intricate pearl mask which allow them to see while they remain concealed, staying out of the spotlight and keeping the focus on what matters most: their largely instrumental, psychedelic music inspired by the cultures of the east (one of the musicians is of Indian origin), rhythmic loops inspired by Krautrock, funk and jazz. Discovered after they released their first EP three years ago, the enigmatic group has notably been championed by Gilles Peterson. This year they return with Mahal, a new composition of infinite richness that makes us eager to see them live.
