Meet an unforgettable male-female duo who are part of the Deewee family (label founded by the Dewaele brothers also known as Soulwax and 2manydjs). Even the artwork on their first joint album, Topical Dancer (2022), seems unreal: Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul’s bodies seem to meld together, joined by their arms. A kind of hallucinatory mirage that extends to the music made by these Belgium-based friends, both in their thirties. Simultaneously visionary electro-pop and abrasive post-punk, arty and crazy like Talking Heads, instantly danceable like Daft Punk, their album is avant-garde but never elitist.
