THOMAS DE POURQUERY

Fri 23 Aug
THOMAS DE POURQUERY

What do Metronomy, Oxmo Puccino, The Clash’s Mick Jones, Frànçois and The Atlas Mountains and Jeanne Added have in common? They’ve all collaborated with saxophonist, singer and jazzman Thomas de Pourquery. Coming from the Paris suburbs, this fortysomething specialises in interstellar jazz, funk and prog rock but is also inspired by electro and world music. Having initially considered a career playing rugby, he inevitably succumbed to his true calling: music. He’s released numerous albums both as a frontman and a righthand man for others as well as several soundtracks. Cinema holds a special place in his life, Thomas de Pourquery is a sometime actor who was also musical director of the 2022 César ceremony (the French Oscars). A veritable all-rounder who’s impossible to classify.
